I have been investigating engines to use for a large openworld game and my search brought me to Grit. The Engine looks great and I love Ogre3D so it seems like a perfect match.

Before I get into compiling the code I want to test the engine out and make sure it's a good fit. I downloaded the Media repo with the precompiled binaries. I'm getting several errors when trying to start it though:

[2013/03/11 13:49:07.048] [C]: /system/misc.fixed.lua:42831: bad argument #5 to 'add_font' (function expected, got table)
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.050] /system/misc.fixed.lua:42831: add_font2
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.050] /system/misc.fixed.lua:42835: global scope
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.051] [C]: include
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.051] /system/hud.lua:59: global scope
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.051] [C]: include
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.052] /system/init.lua:21: global scope

And then a whole bunch of the following error:

[2013/03/11 13:49:07.057] [C]: bad argument #-1 to '?' (string expected, got table)
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.058] [C]: addChild
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.058] /system/hud.lua:111: func </system/hud.lua:100>
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.058] [C]: addChild
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.058] /system/player_ctrl.lua:51: global scope
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.058] [C]: include
[2013/03/11 13:49:07.058] /system/init.lua:131: global scope

Any ideas what they could be caused from? I have a low to medium range Gaming PC (i7 quad core, 8 gigs ram, and a 1 gig dedicated Graphics Card with support for shader model 3.0)...

Thanks in advance for any help!

You're on Windows right? Or Linux? Gonna test an updated repo right now, in case anything is broken :P

Indeed, I'm getting the same errors, which are new, so it won't be but a short while before Spark sees it, no worries =)

If you want, you can check your revision number, and check out one step earlier, but it probably won't take long to get this issue fixed. These are rare and when they turn up, it's usually just a day or so.

Welcome to the engine and the community, if you like chat, we have a room setup that you can find from the home page. You are welcome to get involved, we need more hands on the core, and we like helping each other as well. =)

edit: Yes, we are able to reproduce this on all of our Windows, and our Linux users are fine, so currently, we assume we just need a new windows build built :P But there may be more. Should be ready in no time, since the other platform is fine =)
