hi, thank you so much for Grit, i am a huge fan of gta, and i have been searching for what you guys are doing for a long time, i am thinking about buying a new pc ( after gta V is out and after i have read the reviews of different mobosfor gta V) i'd like to know what graphic card are you using while developping and testing, or what graphic card do you think would be the best for grit.
thank you!

I am running on a laptop with a GTX540M and playgrounds runs right now at 20fps more or less. on my desktop i have a 470GTX and it runs at 40fps or so. I'd recommend a 560Ti or similar!

You don't need a super PC for grit (and you won't, as right now it is not optimized) but if you can run GTA:IV, you can run Grit.

For GTA:V I guess a good PC would be a cpu I5 2500k or better and a 560Ti or similar (the 660Ti?)

I wonder if this should be moved? Not sure :P

For the record I have a NVidia Quadro 3700M with Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9400 @ 2.53GHz

I'd recommend a fast NVidia card if you are on Linux or NVidia or ATI card if you're on windows.

I run GTA4 at about 30fps at 1024x768 and playground at about 20 (with low shadow settings).

Note that Grit's deferred shading Gbuffer is fatter than IV's, which makes it slower but allows richer colours and smoother specular/environment reflections. Also the 4-way texture blends on playground can be expensive. These are the key things affecting performance on playground now I think. On larger maps with more draw calls, there is a lot of overhead in Ogre that makes things slow but that doesn't affect playground.

I've got a GTX 550ti, but prior to that had a GTS 250 - it was a beast card for being mid-range, and honestly, I think it was just as good as my new card, and if it's not, it certainly isn't noticed by me with very little changed in what I use it for.

The GTS 250 can be had anywhere from 90 to 120 USD, and I recommend the Gigabyte model if you can find one - their parts are really high quality and durable, and it wasn't very hot. The GTX 550 can be had I believe for around 150 USD, but if you can, and want to go that higher route, I would actually go for a 460 for 20 USD higher if I could go back and make the purchase again.

Performance on playground was great back in my 250, and the 550 is great now. CPU is a q8400, so it's safe to say, that the mid-range is supported nicely, and performance gets better as time passes (that is, I have only seen my FPS rise in Grit, as opposed to plummet through updates)
